LPD 11' Predictions.

I'd like to know the LPD Forums' ideas and comments, thoughts and predictions, whatever, about next year's football season. Who, in your opinion, will be the real standouts, players and teams, in next year's fight for state? Thanks for the input.

I've heard that Appy and all the rest of the schools have two more years as a school and then everyone moves into the new schoola. Comes from a decent source that I know from Appalachia....so who knows.

Also have heard that the kids aren't so much up in arms about it....its just the adults. Sounds like to me.... the kids are a lot more grown up about the situation and the adults are like kids who are only thinking about themselves and not the fine young men and women they are raising in Wise County. No one should ever go back and try to live in the glory of the past.....live in the excitement of the future and where your county could go and only with that attitude will school consolidation be a great thing for the county as a whole....and not live as a lil sore on your butt to those others fr the rest of their lives.

As "stuck in the mud" as this county's attitude is, it will be far worse than the consolidation of Lee County. I,for one, would love to see the schools excel in everything, including sports. But, we must be aware that school is for learning first. Yeah, the plan going forward now is not the best of the plans, but, it is the one that the county is going to be stuck with, barring any legal action, so let's all make the best of it.

I bet J. Rutherford, who goes to Appalachia and graduates in 2012 I think, will be by far the best player in the LPD and may be the best player in the state next year.

Alabama, UT, Oregon, USC, Florida, and Auburn have all offered him full scholarships, and I hear that Auburn and USC are willing to pay $250k plus to get him.

Mississippi State is also offering cash, but they have only offered 100k so far.
